Associate Professor of Energy Systems at the University of Genoa (UNIGE) ‐ since 2015. Adjunct Professor of Machinery at the University of Pavia (UNIPV) – since 2021.

Teaching and Lectures
- Lecturer of “Fuel cells and distributed generation systems” and “Power plants for energy conversion” for the Master’s degree in Energy Engineering (UNIGE).
- Lecturer of “Energy systems” and “Systems for energy and environment” for the Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering (UNIGE) and Energy Engineering (UNIGE) respectively.
- Lecturer of “Machinery” for the Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (UNIPV).
- Invited speaker at the Mälardalen University (Sweden) and at the 6th LEAP Workshop of the National Energy Technology Laboratory (USA).
Research Activities and Results
The research activity has produced more than 120 scientific papers published on International journals (h-index in Scopus equal to 27), presented at international conferences or inside monographic books. Several papers have been published at ASME conferences (since 2004) or in ASME journals. Moreover, he is author of 2 Italian patents related to his experimental research activity. In 2007 and in 2018 he received the Best Paper Award of the International Gas Turbine Institute ‐ The American Society of Mechanical Engineers and in 2015 he received the Best Paper Award of the International Conference on Applied Energy. In 2022 he received the Outstanding Service Award from the Cycle Innovations Committee of the ASME Turbo Expo. He is also founder of the spin-off company of the University of Genoa (UNIGE) named SIT Technologies s.r.l. and he was member of the related Board of Directors. He is also responsible for UNIGE of two H2020 EU projects, one Horizon Europe project and one PRIN national project.

- Responsible of the Innovative Energy Systems (IES) laboratory. Operative units “Bio-HyPP e RR-SOFC” and “Polygeneration”.
- Associate Editor of the Fluid Mechanics Research International Journal (MedCrave) and member of the Editorial Board of different journals.
- Panel Member del The Research Council of Norway for proposal evaluations.
- Member of the GEV – area 09 (ANVUR) for the VQR 2015-19 and the VQR 2020-24.
- “Experienced researcher” under Marie Curie “EnSOFC” grant (2007‐2008) at Rolls‐Royce Fuel Cell Systems (UK) and Visiting Ph.D. student (2005) at U.S. NETL (Morgantown, WV)
