A common control room was developed for all the experimental rigs located in the University campus (at Savona). It is a standard container equipped with an air conditioning system (both heating and cooling) and with the PCs used to manage all the facilities. The properties measured by probes are available in the acquisition software developed in LAbView environment. Moreover, the same type of software is used for controlling the machine set-point values and other plant components (e.g. valves). For various tests it is also possible to couple the control/acquisition software with different real-time models developed in Matlab-Simulink. For instance, the optimized management of the E-NERDD plant is carried out with an apt Simulink software to evaluate thermal power costs, create an efficiency ranking based on these cost values, and operate on the most or least efficient machine.
